Getting ready for a big event? We design bespoke programs that fit your lifestyle and motivate and educate you to achieve your best. 

What is a Training Program?

At its core, it's a schedule of detailed training sessions that safely build you up to your target event. Programs are usually designed in blocks of 3 or 4 weeks with the last week in the block at a lower volume to facilitate recovery. Instructions for each session are documented in Training Peaks, a free, online programming tool that synchronises with your fitness device to confirm you have  completed the session.

What is Coaching?

A program in itself will greatly assist you in meeting your goals. However, it's even more powerful when coupled with a coach to guide you through the program and build your knowledge. Your coach will work with you as you execute your training program. They will review your training data, answer any questions, adjust the program as required and build your knowledge around training zones, pacing, nutrition, strength, recovery, mental toughness, injury prevention and management and much more.

Why are they important?

The key to success in any fitness program is consistency. We work with you to understand your fitness goals, personal constraints and preferences and design programs that are enjoyable, achievable and effective, increasing the chances that you'll be able to follow the program and get the most value from it. We partner with you to give you the best chance for success at your goal race.

What sort of events do you write programs for?

Generally, we'll support athletes looking to compete in any event. Our specialty is Ironman and half Ironman triathlons but we have also coached athletes to compete in shorter triathlons and individual discipline events like open water swims and full/half marathon runs. Even if you're just looking to get more active to achieve a health or weight loss goal, we can help.

What's included?

Our programs are customisable based on your experience and preferences but typically include the following:

  • An initial, on-line survey to gather some basic information about you and your aspirations
  • A program kick-off meeting to understand your background, goals, time constraints, equipment, race calendar, health and nutrition
  • A program summary documenting your strengths and weaknesses, our agreed program goals and our proposed strategy to achieve them through your program
  • A 12 - 24 week training program in Training Peaks. The duration depends on your experience and current fitness level. We'll work with you to help you decide what is best for you
  • Advice on what training to do in the weeks leading up to the commencement of the program
  • Periodic testing to determine appropriate training zones (pace, heart rate and/or power)
  • Regular meeting/call to review progress and adjust plan if required
  • Response within 24 hours to unlimited questions via email/text/messenger
  • Development of a detailed race plan for any races during the program including target zones/paces and fuelling strategies
  • Access to our exclusive Club TriExcel, including our extensive library of information on everything you need to know about endurance sports plus discounts for future programs and other products we offer (like underwater swim assessments)

How much do they cost?

We charge a weekly fee for our programs which is typically paid in blocks of 4 weeks. If you need to withdraw from the program at any point, for any reason, we'll refund you any unused weeks. Our weekly fees are very reasonable and vary depending on your program duration, complexity and level of coaching support you require. Once we understand your needs we'll give you firm quote for the program you desire.
